Analysis of another portfolio

I analyzed Uma Knaven's blog post as it seemed a unique take on style and design. By and large it is actually quite simple, there were far more blogs that stylistically incorporated multimodal presentations of the author's work, however I still felt that Ms. Knaven's blog was very effective even still. It was not difficult to locate her pieces, nor was I confused as to the kind of content she was showcasing, as clarity was rather obviously a goal of hers. Perhaps another reason I liked this blog so much was also her themes of interdisciplinary writing, where both her and I are biology students first and foremost. The content of many of her pieces revolved around ecology directly, or at least environmental themes that were not difficult to pick up on (e.g. 'The Crows' as her applied writing inclusion). Ms. Knaven emphasized the uniqueness of this choice with the images she chose to include with each piece, and the way in which she let each piece almost speak for itself.

I had not thought of including a sub-theme to the pieces that I am planning to use in my portfolio, but now I believe that could be a highly effective way for my to integrate my major and minor with more distinction. I think that the 'Renaissance man' approach would provide an element of intrigue that readers of my portfolio might find interesting at the very least.
